ALL ABOUT KAPPA ALPHA THETA
Kappa Alpha Theta was founded in 1870 as the first Greek-letter fraternity for women. We value our history and take pride in our four founders, who were truly visionary. We also value what we offer today's women! Our vision statement-Kappa Alpha Theta is the organization that provides the finest and most rewarding membership experience-is based on our core purpose and values. Our purpose is to support members to learn, grow, and excel, and our core values are personal excellence, friendship/sisterhood, scholarship, service, and leadership.
The Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter was chartered in 1903 at the Minneapolis Grand Convention. Since then, our membership has grown from ten to over 1600!

Monday, April 14, 2008, 6-8 pm - Car Care
Do you know how to change a tire? Why shouldn't you use cruise control in the rain? Learn the best ways to care for your car at this informative General Meeting. This is our last General Meeting of the 2007-2008 year so get your fill of Theta before we all enjoy a summer vacation (if it ever warms up!)Our own Kulinary KATS prepare a different homemade meal for each of our meetings. Meals are $6 for dues paying members, $8 for non dues paying members and only $4 for first time meeting attendees! While we do encourage everyone to pay their dues, all area Thetas are welcome to attend our events.
We ask out of courtesy for our hostess that you please RSVP by e-mailing us or calling Mandy Preston no later than noon on the Friday prior to the event. This will help make our numbers more accurate for food and seating.

BE OUR GUEST as we DINE IN-IN KANSAS CITY!
It's been just over a year since our cookbook, 'Dining In In Kansas City' made it's debut and people everywhere are eating better because of it! The book features over 300 pages of favorite recipes submitted by Thetas and our CASA friends. It also features favorites from the original 'Be Our Guest' cookbook published by our chapter in the 1970s. Books are available for $18. If you would like to purchase your copy or serve on the marketing committee, please e-mail us. Books will also be available at our General Meetings.

WELCOME TO MIAMI
Grand Convention is the legislative body of the Fraternity. In other words, Grand Convention governs Theta. Yet Grand Convention is also an event, a gathering of one delegate from each alumnae and college chapter as well as Fraternity officers. Held during the summer of every even-numbered year, Grand Convention elects Theta's Grand Council, establishes laws and policies, determines qualifications for membership, and more. Plan to join your Theta sisters at Grand Convention 2008 at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, Florida June 18-22, 2008!
