MAILING FOR THETA

Any mailing to 200 or more Thetas can be sent bulk mail at a significantly reduced rate IF YOU FOLLOWING THESE DIRECTIONS:

1.                  Contact Marcia Corbett about the group to whom you plan to mail.  She will prepare the mailing labels and deliver them to me.

2.                  Make sure you give the printer the Bulk Permit stamp and the Return Address.  You MUST use the Return Address to which the Bulk Permit is registered.  If you have your mailing and/or envelope printed at Shawnee Copy Center, they have this, but you must ask for it to be added.  If you have your printing done elsewhere, you should get the Bulk Permit stamp and the Return Address for the Editor.

3.                  All items mailed must be identical.  For example, if you want to include tickets to the fundraiser, each envelope must contain the same number of tickets.

4.                  Call me and let me know that you will be bringing a mailing, how many will be mailed, when it will be delivered to me, and the date by which it must be mailed out.  I most instances, I can get it done within a couple of days, but it helps if I know it is coming.

5.                  If you have printing done at Shawnee Copy Center, they will deliver it to my house at no extra charge.  If you have printing done elsewhere, you may have to arrange to pick it up and deliver it to me.

6.                  I will attach the mailing labels, complete the paper work, and deliver the mailing to the post office.  You are very kind to offer to help, but this is part of my job.  However, if you ask me to stuff envelopes or something like that and it is a large mailing, I may take you up on your offer.

7.                  The Post Office has up to 10 days to deliver bulk mail.  However, our experience with the Shawnee Mission post office is that almost all mail is delivered within 2 days.

8.                  I will turn in the payment receipt for reimbursement and will note on it which officer’s budget should be charged for the mailing.

9.                  If you every have any questions, please call the Mailings officer or Marcia Corbett.
